The Robux-per-dollar rate is roughly $0.0125 flat below $50; bulk denominations get progressively better. Roblox Premium subscription (separate product, monthly fee) adds ~10% to every Robux purchase — worth it if the kid is spending regularly.
Ask the kid which game they play most. Look up that game's popular item prices. Buy a card denomination that clears at least one item they want with headroom. $25 is the sweet spot for most 8–14-year-olds.

The "free Robux" landmine
Google "roblox robux gift card free" and the first ten results are ad-farms, credential-phishing pages, and "surveys." None of them give free Robux. What they give:
- Login phishing — enter your Roblox username and password on a fake login page. Your child's account is now stolen, along with any Robux they already had.
- Ad-farm loops — watch 40 videos, complete a survey, "install these three apps" — never actually delivers a code.
- Data harvesting — pretends to send a code after collecting your email and phone. Sells the contact info to spammers.
Never enter a Roblox login on any site that isn't roblox.com. Never let your kid do it either. If the kid mentions a "free Robux site," they're the target of a scam.

How the kid actually redeems it
- Kid logs into their own Roblox account at roblox.com/redeem.
- Types the code from the email (10 characters, uppercase + numbers).

- Kid spends them in whatever game they're currently obsessed with.
Do NOT redeem the code on your own account thinking you can transfer Robux later — you can't. Robux are non-transferable between accounts. Give the kid the code and let them redeem.
Refund rules if the code doesn't work
- Never redeemed: refundable. cartapi triggers Reloadly's un-redeemed check via
request_refund; Stripe returns the money. Amazon.com and Walmart.com have similar policies within their return windows. - Redeemed on the wrong Roblox account: not refundable. Once Robux hit an account, they're on that account. Roblox support may occasionally help with an obvious mistake but don't count on it.
- Code "already redeemed" when you haven't touched it: fraud in the supply chain. Take proof of the error to the seller. Legitimate sellers (Amazon, Walmart, cartapi) refund. Grey-market sellers rarely do.
Roblox Premium: worth it?
Roblox Premium is a monthly subscription (~$5/$10/$20 per month for 450/1000/2200 Robux/month + ~10% bonus on all Robux purchases + trading/economy features). For a kid who's actively spending Robux monthly, Premium is often cheaper than gift-card top-ups. For an occasional spender, gift cards win.
Rule of thumb: if the kid spends more than $10-worth of Robux per month, Premium starts making sense.
